Single and free

How To Celebrate Single Awareness Day

There is absolutely nothing wrong with being single.  February 15th is the day dedicated to Single Awareness Day (aka “SAD”). This is a holiday for single people to embrace their singleness and hopefully to show their proud independence.

& You know what?

It’s not that bad being single.

Some people make it seem like such a terrible thing.

And actually… I enjoy it (for right now).

You get to make your own decisions and you don’t have to share your food with anyone. (:

Celebrate Single Awareness Day

There are so many different options of what you can spend your time doing on this national holiday. Most people would automatically assume you would be alone all day. But there are times that people gather all their single friends and do something special. The way you spend this day is completely up to you, but I will offer some ideas that I have thought of.

How To Celebrate Single Awareness Day

  • Get manicures and pedicures
  • Go to the movies
  • Explore off somewhere
  • Get flowers… or plant some
  • Make some art to hang up in your house later
  • Write to your future self about your feelings on life right now
  • Chocolate… eat it… a lot of it
  • Spa Day/Massage
  • Go shopping
  • Go eat somewhere nice
  • Do something that your ex-hated (it’s your chance ;))
  • Go to the gym
  • Try cooking something new
  • Do a gift exchange between you and your single friends
  • Spoil yourself

There are an endless amount of opportunities available to do to enjoy this holiday to the greatest potential.

Single Awareness Day is about being aware you’re single, but also being okay with it. This is the holiday to really spend some time with yourself and appreciating who you are. I refuse to let this holiday bring me down and I hope you choose to do the same. Being single can be fun and don’t take it so seriously, you will find your match when you least expect it.

Plus… it is better to be alone than to wish you were!!!

you deserve the world

My personal favorite way to end this day is to spend the last several hours spending time with myself. I love using a bath bomb, reading a book, and drinking some hot tea. Everyone should pamper themselves once in awhile. I mean, we all deserve a break and relaxation at some point!

There is no exact rule or expected way to spend this day, so do whatever you want to enjoy it!

Do you celebrate this holiday? If so, how?
Would you rather celebrate it alone or with another single friend?
