How often do you find yourself trying new activities that you were once scared to do? Or doing things that you are not used to or comfortable with?

It can be difficult to get out of your “comfort zone” because of the little amount of experience or the fear that comes along with it. But that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t try!

What Is Your “Comfort Zone”?
Your comfort zone is an area of your life that is familiar to you. This can relate to your outside work like your job, relationships, and habits. And it also can relate to your inside world like your emotions, thoughts, and goals.
So it is basically everything you already know and are used to. Not only are you comfortable in it but you just don’t really feel anything in it. It is just normal. There are no thrills, no excitements, and well the comfort zone can get pretty boring, to say the least.
But getting out of this thing we call the “comfort zone”, you are allowing yourself to experience the world, leverage, and grow.

Leaving your comfort zone is literally the best way to grow.
Pushing yourself past your common boundaries can expand your knowledge and experiences. This helps lead you to grow in both, your career and personal life.
If you are ready to make some changes, personally grow, and get a little bit uncomfortable, then continue reading. Because I have gathered some tips for you to use to make leaving your comfort zone as comforting as it can be…
1. Believe
To begin this process of getting out of your comfort zone, you must first believe that you can do it. You must realize that your own thoughts have very strong power. You can not even begin to doubt yourself.
Mindset is the key to success. So, if you stay positive and set your thoughts in the right direction, I can assure you that you can get out of your comfort zone easier than you would’ve imagined!

2. Just Do It
When I find myself nervous or uncomfortable, I begin to have all these thoughts of possibilities and situations run through my head. These thoughts can begin to hinder me and my process and then I completely fall back from even trying to do it.
To avoid this, when a challenge comes your way, immediately accept it, rather than pushing it off. Always give it a try, it is much better than looking back at it wishing you did while wondering what it could’ve been like.
3. Have An Open Mind
Keep your options open and be ready to take in new ideas. This is a great way to be prepared for anything out of the ordinary. When it comes to leaving your comfort zone, you must be willing to try something completely different than what you are used to.
For the sake of yourself, open yourself to the extremes…even if it might seem bizarre. Staying within your comfort zone can keep you from expanding your horizon. You never know what is hidden around that corner that can totally change and improve your life.

4. Make It A Habit
As humans, we are so used to doing the same thing over and over again as a routine. But what if you made it a habit to get out of your comfort zone at least once a day? This is a new habit that I have taken in on my life.
Each day, I find myself stretching my personal boundaries and leaving my comfort zone to try something new. By doing this, I have been waking up earlier, depending on my GPS less, and I have even started this blog! All of these required me to go the extra mile regardless of how scary or hard it may seem.

5. Realize Failure Is Okay
Donβt let the fear of failure stop you from even trying. And if you do try and then fail, realize that it is ok. Without failure, we wouldn’t know success. So spend your time focusing on the process of leaving your comfort zone instead of the possible outcome.
When it comes to doing something that is not in my comfort zone, I always give myself permission to fail. Of course, I still try my best to reach the best outcome possible and to succeed. But, now I don’t get too hard on myself when things don’t work out perfectly. I have actually begun to embrace my failures and mistakes since they have always been a lesson learned!
Fail…
6. Ask and Learn
Don’t be afraid to ask questions, it is part of the learning process and expanding your knowledge in a certain area. Without asking questions, you are actually hindering yourself from being the best you that you can be.
When you take the time to ask and then listen for feedback. You can then take that constructive criticism and apply it for future use, helping you become better at that part of leaving your comfort zone.
Leaving your comfort zone can come with some fears and even failures. But you should not let any of that hold you back from living. Don’t miss out on life because you are too afraid to take chances and try something new.
I challenge you to get out of your comfort zone as soon as possible.

Failure is okay. Something I tell my kid because he gets so bent out of shape over it. I tell myself too.
It is totally okay to repeat it for a reminder, I actually suggest that!
