How To Master That Summer Glow Without Sun

How to master Summer glow without the Sun

As the heat is kicking in and the rays are shining down, I begin to feel like I need to get my summer glow on. I am sick of feeling all pale and pasty and am so ready to be looking tan and tasty without sun damage worries.

Getting a tan outside may not be the easiest thing for everyone. Days might get too busy, the clouds might be out, or you seem to always end up with peeling skin. Whatever it may be, it can seem like there is a problem in the way. That there is something stopping you from getting your summer glow. But I am here to tell you…

No, there isn’t.

No more excuses. Because there are several ways to get your summer glow without sun and I am about to share my two favorites!

Summer Glow With Bronzer

Bronzer is a type of make-up (usually a powder, sometimes liquid) that is applied to your face to give a natural summer glow type of look.

A Powder Brush can be used to make sure the makeup is blended evenly on your face. It assures that your face won’t look cakey. This is a type of brush that should be in every makeup bag and is perfect for bronzer.

When it comes to liquid bronzer (or just blending in general Stippling Brush is the perfect product for this. The brush should be lightly dabbed into the bronzer, only applying it to the top white part of the brush. Then, you should swipe your bronzer under your cheekbones giving you that contour and summer glow that is not too intense. I also like to apply it to the top of my forehead and along my jawline. Make sure to remember to blend it out to your ears and neck so your face doesn’t look uneven.

Since there really is no way to get a tan without damaging your skin a little. Bronzer is a much greater and safer option than the sun.

Bronzer is used differently than contouring, it is more about the summer glow and warmth look, rather than defining your facial structure.

Adding Some Highlight

Something that I love to add to my makeup routine for an extra glow is some highlight. This product is meant to attract light and keep you looking luminous and bright. It can be applied to your cheekbones and other areas of your face such as your brow bones, temples, and even down the center and tip of your nose.

Just be careful not to use to much, it can end up making you look like your face is full of sweat rather than shimmer!

Applying highlight does not have to be difficult. Using a quality brush that isn’t too big is what I recommend. You don’t want the highlight to go anywhere besides the designated areas or else it will take over your face. So a small dense brush is best to apply exactly where you want to.

Summer Glow With Self Tanners

You might have heard of self-tanners before and automatically had an image of an Oompa Loompa in your head.

But I am here to tell you, those days are over!

The self-tanning process has grown and improved so much over the past couple of years. We can now get our summer glow from lotions, sprays, gels. and even pills! Also, they can start to show up in less than an hour and can last several washes.

Remember to use a small amount at a time and to work with it quickly all over your skin. Do not forget to rinse your hands (elbows, ankles, and knees) with a wet cloth to get the excess tanner off (since it will get darker in those areas).

Tanning Without Sun

Bronzer and self-tanners are both wonderful ways to achieve that “summer glow” look. Some may think of it as a way to get the sun rays out of your eyes and to not get burnt shoulders again.

Both bronzers and self-tanners are quick and efficient. But, bronzers can be taken off with soap and water. When it comes to self-tanners, they are easy to maintain and can last almost a week!

I tend to do a self-tanner and then use a little bronzer when it starts to fade or for that extra “glow” look.

Have you ever used bronzer or self-tanner before? Which do you prefer to use? Or do you prefer the sun?
