There are so many different options to chose and take advice from. By being online, you can’t help but run into articles about healthy eating, exercise programs, detoxes and sleep studies everywhere. They are all telling us how to be healthy today in everything that we do.

The good news is that your health doesn’t have to be something that you find hard to manage. You also don’t need a degree in nutrition to understand how to keep your body healthy. So, with all of that in mind, here are four ways that you can get healthy – today.

Diet is 80% of the issue when it comes to health.

If you’re eating the wrong foods, too many calories, not enough protein, and the wrong balance of nutrients, you’re going to feel sluggish and tired and slow.

Food is fuel; with everything you eat to fuel your body, when healthy food goes in, the energy and the vitamins make you feel good.

But truly, this seems to be the hardest part for the majority of people. Processed and fast foods are known to be addicting and can be similarly compared to the way drugs are addicting.

I can admit, that diet is what I struggle most with when it comes to staying healthy today.

But, once you drop some old bad habits and create a new diet and routine, it will begin to get more simple.

Yes, many of us are always on the go. With work, school, relationships, health, hobbies, etc. it can seem difficult to finally lay down, relax, close your eyes, and just rest.

But, without the right amount of sleep every night, you’re going to end up sick.

Your immune system needs you to rest properly so that it can repair itself and rejuvenate. You may be getting by on less than eight hours of sleep, but that doesn’t mean that it is keeping you healthy today.

Your sleep is going to be what improves your life from every angle, so adjust your routine to fit it in. Make time for it and allow yourself to relax. 

I suggest creating a routine and sticking with it – you’ll feel much more refreshed and your body will thank you.

Workout

Whether you swim, cycle or run, you need to burn off fat to build energy. Your body needs a certain level of fat to function, but working out can burn off the excess. And it can also make endorphins ricochet around your body, helping to make you feel good.

I have noticed that getting in some daily exercise, even if its just a 15-minute walk, has always helped my day. I feel relieved, energized, and more confident when I get in a workout.

It has actually been proven to decrease stress. So, I suggest setting aside around 4 days a week to get in at least 30 minutes of physical activity.

I can assure you, you won’t regret it.

Spending time with the people that you love and doing activities that make you feel relaxed are the perfect ways to get happy and feel more healthy today.

The happier you are, the better your mental health. Prioritise your relationships, your social life, and your hobbies a little more and you will begin to feel less stressed.
