12 Creatives Who Have Overcome Failure

Failure is inevitably part of life. And for those who are continuously challenging themselves—whether in their careers, health, or personal goals—there will be numerous hardships and setbacks to overcome.

It’s what you make of those failures that really sets you apart from the rest. It’s those that can turn a difficult situation into a positive that find true self-awareness and success. One of the most important things to remember when you feel like throwing in the towel is that everyone who wants to do something of value will undoubtedly face failure within some aspect of their life.

Overcome Failure

That is why I am here – it’s a big reason that I have created “1 Day At A Time” and this blog. Because I have learned that throughout life- changes will take place and there will always be challenges that we have to face. But, by showing up every day and giving it your all 1 Day At A Time, you will be able to accomplish anything. You will be able to reach any goal and overcome failure and any other obstacle that gets in the way.

If you don’t believe me, take a look at some of the difficult paths and obstacles many famous celebrities, artists, and creatives had to overcome before ultimately reaching their goals. Vincent van Gogh only sold 1 painting throughout his life. Oprah grew up poor and was fired from her job at Baltimore’s WJZ. Walt Disney declared bankruptcy and J.K. Rowling was rejected from 12 major publishing houses for her Harry Potter books! Instead of giving up, these people who we’ve grown to honor and look up to kept on going and it’s that drive that propelled them into successful careers.

Persistency Is Key To Overcome Failure

Undoubtfully they encountered difficulties and setbacks along the way, some more than others. But one thing that they had in common is that they were persistent. Imagine if they just gave up the first time something got hard or they didn’t understand. Life itself would be so different for each of us. We wouldn’t be able to look back and see how these creatives have overcome failure and made a huge impact on this planet.

  1. I have a 5-year-old who absolutely has a fixed mindset. In the jigsaw puzzle example, I definitely recognized him in the group that wanted to do the same puzzle over and over. Not because he loves it, but because he doesn t want to do something difficult and fail. I feel like I ve always praised effort and hard work! How can I get him to be more open to growth?
