Who doesn’t want healthy, glowing, beautiful, and thriving skin?
Someone crazy, that’s for sure!
By starting skincare practices as early as possible, you are setting yourself up for that gorgeous skin that we all dream of!
But if you don’t have a skincare routine, don’t be afraid. It is never too late to start.

information.
Creating A Routine
While growing up, many teens begin to experience skin changes. Some might notice their skin type to be very oily or dry and others might get a face full of acne.
Either way, it is ok. It’s life.
But, to keep your skin at its prime. No matter what age you are at, I recommend starting a routine.
Morning

1.Cleanser
2.Toner
3.Moisturizer
4.SPF
Night
1.Make-up Remover/Cleanser
2.Eye Cream
3.Night Time Moisturizer
Start Before The Blemishes Even Start
If you don’t set up a routine for your skincare practices, you are allowing any spots, wrinkles, and cellulite to appear. So, let’s just avoid that mistake overall. And instead, make the move to address any skin troubles before they even start to happen.
Take a minute to think. Have you ever thought of the fact that even babies have to take care of their skin?
Well, the babies don’t do it. But the parents do!
Yes. Those wet wipes, baby oil, and baby powder products are all made to protect their skin.

Although these products are meant to avoid any harm done to their skin from their potty habits. We all know that it is still essential for babies to have their skin treated regularly.
However, as you begin to grow up and wear makeup, get acne, and be exposed to the sun more often. You must start practicing skincare.
And yes, on your own. Unfortunately, we won’t always have our parents there to remind us to clean our faces before we get in bed.
But It Is Never Too Late
If you haven’t hopped on the bandwagon yet and began skincare practices. Then, don’t be discouraged because it is never too late.
It may seem easy to feel like you are the last one to get going on your skincare practices. But, don’t let that stop you before you even get started.
By creating a daily skincare routine for yourself now. You can target any specific skin blemishes that you are hoping to get rid of and fix.

Daily Habits For SkinCare Practices
Other than your skincare routine each day. You should embed some new healthy skincare practices and habits in your time as well!
Wear sunscreen
This is one of the skincare practices that you should begin immediately if you haven’t already started. No matter your age or the season of the year, you should always have at least SPF 30 on your face every single day.
If you wear primer or foundation, I suggest getting one that includes built-in SPF to ensure you don’t miss a day and that your skin is always protected!
I also love wearing hats when I am outside in the sun all day, just to avoid any possible chances of getting burnt. Because let me tell ya, I never want a peeling face!

Body Oil
This is a habit that I am trying to do daily because of how great it makes me feel. Usually, after I get out of the shower, I rub on a thin layer of body oil. This helps to seal in the moisture and to get rid of any type of “ashy” look. I love this product because I immediately feel much more smooth and full of a glow!
Drink water
We have all heard about the importance of drinking water.
By hydrating your body, you are also helping to maintain the moisture in your skin and increasing its elasticity.
Other benefits include keeping the skin soft and glowing.

Weekly Habits For SkinCare Practices
Exfoliate
This is another one of the skincare practices that you should start early on. Maybe not as early as sunscreen (which you should start wearing as a baby), but beginning in your teen years, you should be exfoliating on the regular. I suggest at least twice a week.
Regardless of your skin type, when you exfoliate, you are removing the dead skin layers, minimizing your pores, and creating a smoother surface. I always find it super refreshing after I get in a nice exfoliation.

Salt/Sugar Scrub
Just like the face, our body needs to be exfoliated too.
By rubbing salt body scrub in a circular motion around your body while in the shower. You can remove all of the extra dead skin, especially from places like your elbows and heels.
If your skin is very sensitive, I would suggest going for a sugar scrub. They tend to be a little smaller than the salts and more gentle.
Just remember to only use these scrubs on your body, keeping it away from your face. Also, don’t overdo it, limit the use to three times a week or less. No matter how good it may feel π
Face Masks
In my world, I celebrate face mask Monday every week. I love how you can do practically anything around the house while the product sits on your face and works its magic! As it cleans and minimizes your pores, you can lay back, read a book, listen to some music, or practice some other forms of self-care.

Other SkinCare Practices
Obviously, there is much more to skincare practices than what I can mention in one blog post. But, I think adjusting to your own individual needs according to your skin is the best advice you can take.
If you begin to break out, you may want to consider adding some acne cream to any spots or blemishes. Or if your skin type begins to shift or change due to your stress levels or the weather outside, you may need to experience with new products.
You should also take your diet into consideration when it comes to your skin. By maintaining a healthy diet, you can be more confident that your face will reflect your nutrition. Since your skin is known to react to junk food.

The last quick tip that I have for you and your skin, is to avoid intentionally tanning in the sun or getting in tanning booths because of the harm it causes to your skin.
Now, hey there…! Don’t let that kill your mood just because you feel better when you are “glowing”.
I GET IT!
I am totally on the same page. And to answer your question – yes, it is possible to have a “summer glow” look without any worries of sun damage. Just, read how I do it, with this post!
Get To It
In the end, we all have different skincare needs and as we age, things change. But it doesn’t hurt to start as soon as you can. And it is also never too late to start either.

So if you haven’t started your skincare practices yet – Will you start now?
If you already have a routine – Are there any other daily habits that you use for your skincare practices?

Skin care is so important but is so often overlooked! Thank you for sharing!
Thanks for reading Ashley π
Thank you for this, I didn’t realize I need to exfoliate once a week. Also, I need to try a weekly face mask. Which face mask you use?
Yes, it is definitely helpful to get that extra dead skin and dirt off! And right now I am kinda playing around with different face masks to see which works best for me but I like the ones you can peel off your nose for blackheads too π
Great information! As a health coach and a licensed esthetician I am constantly reminding clients that what they put in their body is as important as what they put on it!
