How Self-Love Can Help You Live A Better Life

While we are seeking love from others and searching for fulfillment. I decided to write a post on why practicing self-love is essential. We need to look at our inner-selves to find happiness. And to know through all the crazy times in life, that it is okay to take a break every once in a while and reward ourselves.

Self-love

Many of us have multiple tasks to accomplish each day and don’t spend enough time loving ourselves. Self-love is an action you take to meet your physical, emotional, spiritual, and mental needs. Everything you can do to make yourself feel good and improve because you deserve it.

Constantly, we are putting others needs before our own and this commonly adds stress to our lives. Being there for others is a good quality but make sure to be there for yourself too! Being too stressed out can make life difficult and unenjoyable if we don’t take the time to rest and practice self-love.

What self-love is to me

There are a lot of people that spend so much time on their outside looks like fitness, make-up, and clothes. But they don’t take time to accept, love, and better themselves from within. Our generation is so involved with social media and being updated on the lives of others. We wake up and begin scrolling through the online world and our minds are filled with unrealistic standards.

We tend to compare ourselves to others a lot from what we see posted online and in magazines. Our self-esteem and confidence are lowered because we don’t feel like we meet those beauty requirements. We then post a picture of ourselves but edit out all the flaws and the unique qualities that makes us, us.

We need to stop comparing ourselves to others because we are our own kind of beautiful.

Our body that we live in is something we should be proud of and celebrate. But I have heard so many people (and even myself), criticize the body that they live in. I am trying each day to work on this and be more loving to myself and proud because the person within is what really matters!

The more we can accept and love ourselves the happier we will be. Also, stress will be reduced, and we can do more good in the world!

Whenever I feel like I am at my lowest of lows is when I need to practice self-love the most. Immediately, I stop saying degrading things about myself and feeling worthless. And instead, I look at all the things that I have accomplished. Then, I stop taking my body for granted and decide to thank it for all it has done for me.

I take the time to moisturize my skin, appreciate my senses, and learn more about myself. My self-love time is full of gratitude and treating my body like a loving vessel. Caring about what goes into my body can help me receive the best energy that I can get. And by getting the energy I am more likely to look and feel good. Self-love is nothing but greatness.
